They should make a "Value" TT

Starting with the next generation, Audi should offer a base/value model TT. Keep the Quattro, but then hook it up to the 1.8T with either a 6MT or 6DSG. Remove the high end MMI radio and do the seats in sporty cloth instead of leather. Keep it under 35k, and you have a winner.

Yea, because people will suddenly start buying a sub 35k TT just because its sub 35k.

They call it the GTI. Or the Golf R if you want something fair. Things people actually buy.

Well last time I suggested that they make a 4mo GTI, everyone here called me an idiot.

I think it could be a great niche to fill. BMW isn't making an affordable Z, and Merc isn't making a cheap SLK either. People want to feel special over 30k.

They do make a budget TT, it's called a CPO :D

They should sell it as a VW. Not sure why but people seem to love buying fully loaded Passats and CC's for $35k+ now.

Selling a VW sports car that overlaps with the TT is only going to hurt the TT. As a person that greatly and oftenly laments VW not bringing over the Sciroco, I know exactly why. Even though it would be a great pony-killer, it would also step on the TT's toes.

You're not an idiot. 4Motion GTI= Previous-gen A3.

Unfortunately they never made a manual quattro A3...

In Europe there has always been such a model (1.8 TFSI, cloth, no MMI, 6MT, even no Quattro). So the only problem you have is Audi US not importing it. And that's probably because 'you' don't want it ;-)

Even the 2.0 TSI can be had without quattro. However, I imagine the most amazing thing to the Americans here is that you can get the TT with a 2.0 TDI as well.

Haha, yeah right. But that one comes with the Quattro. Always.

How's the 325i?

Our base model comes standard with Quattro now I think. At least that's what I gleaned off the Audi mobile site.

I don't see why we wouldn't want it. I think it would be a great car to have in Audi USA's arsenal.

It is a great car to have and let me rephrase it: Audi USA thinks you don't want it. As Duurtlang stated in a reply to me: We also have a TDI over here!

At least you're able to get a manual M5!
